"Last Summer is a finally awakened sleeping beauty's dream...", says Franco - the
one man behind the project. "I wanted to write and play my own songs in minimal acoustic form for a long time,
but life always seemed to be one step ahead of me. Since February 2007, however, I'm on the road - with more
than 50 songs in the trunk. The band has played numerous gigs in Leipzig, Dresden, Hamburg, Bremen, ... although
people might remember our internet presence better than anything else."
Franco pauses for a moment and stares
into the void. "Nowadays, this has become a lot more than just a solo music project. There were album productions,
homerecording sessions, and the quality level has been raised quite regularly. You can hear that, when you work your
way through the sound samples chronolgically."
Eh, me, Franco Summers? With energetic support of Jens Last and Melanie M - no, not the one from the Spice Girls!" Franco grins and lightly shakes his head. "I'd like to keep the music as simple as possible: two dry guitars and two interesting voices. The CD recordings on the other hand can be bloated to infinity with orchestra sounds. What's left is the song - and if it is good, it's all that matters."
"It's a tribute to romanticism, to the craft of 'music', and especially life; influenced by countless bands in blues, rock, jazz, metal, and punk. The lyrics are downright blue and very personal. You could say it's a kind of way to write a diary - maybe this could be a chaotic musical some day."
